About the virtual programme

The ScaleUp Accelerator helps scaling tech (often B2B SaaS) UK companies prepare for strong growth and Series A funding. This support is delivered in a virtual setting in order to support scaleups during these unprecedented times.

The ScaleUp Accelerator has adapted its in-person growth and VC readiness programme to our current remote working practices, and as such has made all of its growth training keynotes, expert sessions, VC tips and mentoring elements, along with exited entrepreneurs live interactive online.

The ScaleUp Accelerator is the perfect combination of upfront intensive learning and long-term support, with 6 weekly half day sprints followed by up to 12 months of support until your deal is done.  This enables CEOs and founders to develop a credible plan and investor proposition to raise their Series A and grow to £10m and beyond.

We support UK based tech companies who are currently at £500k to £1.5m net revenue and growing.

The ScaleUp Accelerator leverages nearly a decade of expertise by The Accelerator Network team delivering award winning programmes and our partner White Horse Capital being embedded in the VC community, securing over £350m+ of funding.

Accepted Applicants

You will participate in weekly half day sprints of training and mentoring, with 12 months of ongoing support virtually. The format is live, with scheduled sessions across each sprint (half a day each week over 6 weeks) of interactive online sessions to participate in as a cohort, plus 1:1 video call support discussion for application of the learning into your scaleup.

This ensures you have a clear awareness of the activities that will help you scale, and attract the necessary growth funding.

The programme dives into the key areas of your business supported by experts and investors, plus 1:1 feedback on growth strategy, sales plans, marketing, legals and finance from some of UK’s leading scaleup experts. Thereafter, we continue to provide guidance on business plans and financial models, concluding with highly-curated virtual investor events.

Uniquely post-pitching is followed by comprehensive 1:1 support to help you structure and close your VC round. This will include pro-active investor outreach, qualification, term sheet negotiation support, and advice around the due diligence process through to a successful completion.

Testimonials

This virtual programme is part of The Accelerator Network, with nearly a decade of experience accelerating tech startups and scaleups, in partnerships with White Horse Capital who have advised on £350m+ of fundraises. Hear what companies have to say about their experience.

  • "Ian and Duncan from WHC were very supportive as part of the program to wisely advise me on the journey of raising the Advizzo Series A. The WHC team has a strong background on such fund raises and it was a pleasure to successfully work with them." Raised £2.65m from Earthworm Capital.

    PATRICE GUILLOUZIC
    ADVIZZO
  • "Just to say a big thank you for your support to date. We have now wrapped up the investment round. We couldn't have got here without that initial structure, business plan kicking, and investor network from the Accelerator. The process works!" Raised £2m from Mercia and Nauta Capital

    PHILIP HUTHWAITE
    BLACKCURVE
  • "Ian and team were central to Colateral successfully completing our Series A Raise in March 2019 but more than this, they were instrumental in helping us as a business to shape up for the future. We believe that the process we went through moved our business on 12 months in a 3 month period and we quite simply wouldn't have raised our funding without them." Raised £1.45m from FSE Group & others.

    Dorian Spackman
    COLATERAL (Swoop)
  • "It is an intensive, practical programme for companies that are going places and are serious about getting there. The White Horse Capital team were instrumental in helping us understand and present the achievements, strengths and opportunities of our business in the most effective way possible, and ultimately made the difference in securing our lead VC investor for our successful Series A raise” Raised £2.5m from Calculus Capital.

    CLARE FLYNN LEVY
    ESSENTIA ANALYTICS
  • The ScaleUp Accelerator has proven to be invaluable to our business. From the offset, the content and direction given by the team has saved us significant time in preparation for our next step of growth. 10 out of 10!

    ANDRE HORDAGODA
    GO INSTORE
  • "We entered the programme with an exciting product and good traction with clients. However, we were keen to better understand the investor landscape and to be able to frame our investment proposition clearly. The Accelerator helped build our investment readiness in a very short timeframe. Our knowledge and skills grew through the classroom training and the feedback on our assignments. The invaluable guidance from our mentor (who is now an investor in our business) helped us both with client engagement and investor readiness. Along the way, we have built a great network with other startups facing similar opportunities and challenges and look forward to the continuing support of The Accelerator Network over the coming years."

    DAVID BOON
    INTERRODATA
  • "Joining the Accelerator has been one of the best decisions we've made all year. The last 12-weeks have been pretty full on, but with the support of the programme we've now got a credible business plan that makes us investor ready and will allow us to take the business to the next level."

    ADAM MILWARD
    METADATAWORKS
  • "The programme was clearly focused on getting Neotas investor ready, led to introductions to institutional funders, and ultimately aided our successful funding round in late 2018. We would strongly recommend the programme. We worked with Ian and team during our fundraising, they gave us some great direction, we found that their coaching and their honest (sometimes very honest!) feedback really helped us shape our pitch". Raised $1.5M from Symvan Capital and Force Over Mass.

    IAN HOWARD
    NEOTAS
  • "Fifty participated in The Accelerator Network programme, and were advised by White Horse Capital. Ian put us through the mill several times, which meant that we were ready for anything that the VC community could ask us. Ultimately this meant we were in better shape to close our round" Raised £3.5m from Guinness Asset Management
